Woot! It’s Launch Time here in the lair. My 15th (that’s FIFTEEN, baby! Yikes) release is out now!!! WILD THING is a part of the Blazing Bedtime Stories volume VII anthology, with one of my favorite authors – Rhonda Nelson Here’s the official blurb:
It’s bedtime—and bestselling authors Rhonda Nelson and Tawny Weber have two deliciously wicked tales to tell you…
Just call him Prince Charming…
Compared to her beautiful siblings, groomer Andrea Tanner always felt like an ugly stepsister. But when she’s left tied up and fuming, her prize pooch, Medusa, stolen, Andrea can’t help hoping her prince will come.
And he does.
Hunky P.I. Percy Graham arrives in time to save the day—and to remind her that he hasn’t forgotten the naughty night they once shared….
To get the party rolling, let’s cue the music, shall we? Now, I know there are other versions of Wild Thing out there (music-wise, of course *g*) but this one is my favorite because it is just so 80s. It’s like a hair band party, total nostalgia and just so much naughty fun. Which fit the story pretty well!
Unlike in the video, the Wild Thing in my story isn’t a girl, she’s a dog (her hair is just as big, though). A Chinese Crested with dreadlocks, Medusa is a little, well, shall we say persnickety. Now, dogs are one of my favorite things, so featuring one in a book was such a delight. Medusa, my story pup, isn’t quite what the hero calls pretty. In fact, he’s a little horrified when he first sees her, wondering why someone turned that poor thing inside out. But she soon wins his heart, which is a good thing since he’s risking life and limb to rescue her.
I loved putting my fun twist on Percy and Andrea’s story – aka Perseus and Andromeda. As usual, the story idea that I began writing with is nothing like the final product. It took on a life of it’s own.
I hope you’ll check it out – and if you do, let me know what you think of Medusa and how she brought Percy and Andrea together for their happy-ever-after. And since I’m in a pet sharing mood, I thought it’d be fun to share a picture of my three dogs taken last month. Okay, so only the Rottweiler and shepherd mix are actually my dogs, the English Bulldog is my daughter’s. But I claim her anyway From left to right, it’s Betsey, Sierra, me and Tinkerbell.
While Sven brings around margaritas and appetizers, I’d love to hear your take on pets in stories. Do you love them? Do they bother you? Or are they one of those take it or leave it things? If you have one, what’s your favorite type of dog – and again, if you have one, what’s your favorite story that features a pet? And hey, since it’s a party if you use the term Wild Thing in your comments, I’ll add your name to the drawing to win a copy of the book!
Mary, I’m so with you! Pets bring out so many facets to a story that I don’t think could be shown otherwise. How people react to animals, treat their pets, what the interactions show –those are such great insights into the character.
And pets are cute. And funny
Congrats on nabbing the rooster!! Hopefully he’ll have a margarita or two and sleep through the day. Because he’s one animal that is definitely NOT a pet *ggg*
Whoohoo Tawny I love the sound of this book can’t wait to read it I so love your stories and as for pets in stories love them as well totally agree with Mary they add so much to a story whether it be humour or emotion there is always so much love to share with your pets.
I don’t think I have a favourite type of dog I just love them all and one of my favourite stories with a dog will always be Anna Campbell’s Untouched I so love Wolfram (Hope I spelt that right I have just got home from a weekend spent at a winery with a great gorup of romance readers LOL) I feel like a little bit of a wild thing myself after the weekend LOL
Oooh, wine and romance. It sounds like a glorious weekend, Helen! I hope you had a marvelous time
And thank you so much for loving my books *ggg* I hope you enjoy this one. And like you, I just love dogs. All dogs, pretty much. I’m partial to the bigger ones for myself, but I grew up with small one and loved them just as much. They’re like pure love with a tail.
“Wild thing, you make my heart sing….” Ahhh, the memories. (I didn’t realize it was a Jimi Hendrix song, though!)
I really enjoy romances that have dogs featured in their storylines. Two of my favorite ones are Kandy Shepherd’s HOME IS WHERE THE BARK IS and LOVE IS A FOUR-LEGGED WORD. Kandy’s depictions were accurate in MY eyes, and they drew me in further to turn those pages as quickly as possible. Couldn’t get enough of her stories.
Love that song. I like the Hendrix version, but Sam Kinnison’s is the one that brings back so many memories. And, hey, any video that opens with Jon Bon Jovi and Rodney Dangerfield (how 80s can you get?) is a winner in my mind LOL.
I can’t believe I haven’t read Kandy Shepherd’s books. I’m going to have to run to the bookstore and get some for sure. Like I said, I loooooooove dogs I’ll check out the titles you recommended.
I’d love to hear your take on pets in stories. Do you love them? Do they bother you? Or are they one of those take it or leave it things?
I don’t mind pet stories; but they have to be interesting. I mean ‘Marley & Me’ was the kind of story I really could relate to because we thought we had the only dog who took us for walks, hated cars – until she got into it, then we couldn’t get her out of the darned thing! – and then we figured out that it wasn’t good to feed her just before going for a road trip. A) our dog puked! and B) after she puked everywhere and stunk out the car in one way (and made us evacuate it too), she stunk it out in another way by farting in it! Nope our dog didn’t travel well; not until she was older and she couldn’t see where we were going or cared – so long it wasn’t the vet!
Now, I have another little wild thing in my life in the size and shape of a budgie. She just turned 7 years old at the end of April and thinks she can run the house. She chatters to the radio, hates the sports shows on there and screeches her head off whenever she sees Dr Phil or Oprah on the tv (thank goodness the latter is gone!). Then, if that’s not bad enough, she hates strangers… but loves the piano tuner, antenna guy and most guys who are tradies (my plumber, electrician or anyone who are here to fix things and I don’t see on a regular basis). And yet, if I happen to start dating, my budgie (Little Miss Stevie is her name) she gives the poor guy the bird’s version of the Lazy Eye and really intimidates him!
Oh, the name of my bird? In case you’re wondering how I came upon it. I bought a boy, but he turned into a she in under a year. So, I had to turn the name from Stephen King to Stevie Nicks… then she turned in a little miss. So, her name became Little Miss Stevie…. which I really do think matches her personality. Spoiled rotten, gets what she wants when she wants it and runs the house from her cage by the window… yep, my budgie may be a caged bird, but is a wild thing a heart.
If you have one, what’s your favorite type of dog – and again, if you have one, what’s your favorite story that features a pet?
Oh man, Mozette… traveling with animals is always an adventure, isn’t it LOL on the stinky dog. Ours can be quite pungent *g* so I can totally sympathize.
Your bird sounds so fun! It sounds like she’s a flirt with the trades guys – how cute And I LOooove how you chose her name.
If you have one, what’s your favorite type of dog – and again, if you have one, what’s your favorite story that features a pet?
Whoops! I forgot to answer this part! It was late at night when I answered your questions.
I love Staffordshire-Bullterriers. Such lovely dogs, and yet very protective as well; and they tend to have conversations with you. And our dog was a Staffi-Cross – with what? We still don’t know.
My favourite story featuring a pet? The book – and movie – ‘Marley & Me’… as I said in my first answer, I can *really* relate to it all!
Yes, I enjoy animals in stories. I wish I could remember the title but there was a book that would give the dog’s point of view – not a lot to make it overwhelming but just here and there. I just got Animal Atrraction by Jill Shalvis that has an adorable kitten on the cover – how could I not get that one land and I bet it was a WILD THING Lol. Congratulations on 15!
Congrats, Tawny! I always look forward to your books. Add in a dog and I’m hooked!
I love pets in my romances, especially dogs. Dogs are a huge part of my life so having them interacting with the characters is a reflection of my normal.
I agree with Laney. Kandy Shepherd writes some of the best animal characters out there. Love her books!
I like all dogs but, for myself, I lean toward large breeds. My current buddies are a Lab-Shepherd mix and a Rottie mix. Love them to pieces.
Your dogs sound delightful, and very similar to mine! I tend to have bigger dogs, too, although every time I visit my mom I am so tempted to bring home a tiny Yorkie. Oh, the sweetness!!!
We’ve always had dogs and cats, I can’t remember a time in my life that there wasn’t one or both in the house. So as you say, seeing them in a book just makes it that much easier to relate
Tawny, these are great photos! I love your new head shot.
I enjoy pets in stories as long as the author doesn’t get carried away with the cutesiness of the pet. Nora does a great job giving pets personalities with a few short paragraphs scattered through the story.
Stories that center on cats don’t work for me because I’m allergic. Cat shifters thus have little appeal. But I’m fine with there being a cat in the book.
We had English bulldogs when I was growing up. Those ugly faces hide sweet, sweet hearts. The dh and I have had two purebred goldens, a lab, and two golden mixes. We adopted them all as adults, three through rescue organizations, one from an ad in the paper, and one from someone we heard about through friends.
The downside is that we have them, usually, for about half their lives. We know we’ll lose them much too soon. The upside is that they’re housebroken, beyond the chewing phase, and very goodnatured.
My copy of Blazing Bedtime Stories came in while we were away, so I’ll be picking it up this week.
Thank you tons and tons, Nancy I hope you enjoy Wild Thing. And the pic was in desperate need of updating, so I finally gave in last month and got that done. I’m glad it turned out okay.
Allergies are so rough! Beth’s allergic to cats, too, so when she visited mine had to stay outside. It was the saddest thing. Persephone (my cat) still has issues over it and whenever she sees Beth’s picture she gets grumpy.
I love rescue dogs. My Sierra is a rescue, and quite a few we’ve had over the years were, too. Like you say, there are some wonderful upsides, but the shorter time together can be rough.
English Bulldogs are SO fun. I was pretty doubtful when my daughter said she was getting one. Um, ugly much? But the personality, the fun, the sweetness??? Oh they are the best. And crazy smart
Thanks Jo I’ll admit, I still have to pinch myself sometimes to believe I’ve actually published 15 books (well, technically 16 since Harlequin put the online read I wrote into book form, but still…)! Dreams do come true *g*
And thanks on the pic. Aren’t my babies adorable LOL. I think that was the last warm day we had, too! I’m back in sweatshirts and double layer socks this week.
Fifteen books! That is amazing, Tawny! And I cannot wait to read this one. LOVE stories with pets in them. And your doggies are precious! A Rottweiler named Tinkerbell? That is perfect!
La Divina Campbell’s Wulfram is one of my favorite animal characters.
There was a parrot in one of JQ’s Whistledown anthologies that stole shiny things and caused quite a bit of trouble for the characters. LOVE parrots as they can say some of THE most inappropriate things at the worst times.
I love all dogs. I have a variety of dogs from chihuahuas to a big golden retriever mix called Clyde the Idiot Brother. Clyde is short for Clydesdale and he is called the idiot brother because he does the dumbest things!
LOL on Tinkerbell’s name. She was the runt of the litter and her breeder said she’d probably only reach about 70 lbs-maybe. I figured Tinkerbell would work for a tiny Rottie, or be wonderfully ironic. Since she’s sitting at a comfy 115 right now, irony (and treats) won.
Anything ala Campbell is my favorite, so I’m right there with you on loving Wulfram And yessss, parrots are such great characters in themselves. Both in books and in real life.
I’m going to be giggling over Clyde the idiot brother all day, btw I can totally picture a big, doofy sweetie of a dog now
OMgosh, Louisa, I LOVE that! Clyde the idiot Brother. Hahahahah!!!
Tawny I’m LOL too about Tinkerbell. I have a Rottie/Lab/Husky mix who has one blue eye and one brown eye and goes by the name of Sweet Pea. :> She IS sweet, but lordy-dee she intimidates EVERYONE by the way she looks. Snork!
Tawny,
I can’t wait to pick up a copy of your new release. I won’t download it on my new Kindle though- love the cover too much.
I have a black Lab who is one quarter Rottweiler. She has all the personality of a lab and the strength of a Rottie. She used to break through the fence in her kennel to chase deer. She also is very jealous when I hug my husband, she wedges between us. And I swear she says “I love you” to him- think Scooby Doo’s voice.
Rotts are so bossy, aren’t they?! Tink does that- just shoves her way in between anyone who isn’t giving her the attention she figures she deserves. Ugh on the broken fences – that’s always a pain. My husband is building new ones as I type because the dogs only have to sniff at them and the boards were falling out.
Thanks so much, too, on the book love That cover is sooooo hot!
OMgosh, they ARE bossy! hahahah! I’m learning a lot about Rottie’s here. I’ve never had one before Sweet Pea and she’s a rescue and a re-home – rescued by my BFF and rehomed to us when BFF had to move into an apt. I didn’t know until Cassondra told me, that Rotties are also prone to gas. Lord, that dog can clear a room in about two seconds. I kept thinking it was what I was feeding her, but Cassondra, who used to have Rotties, said no. They’re just “that way.” Snork!!!
My mom breeds Yorkies, Gail They are some of the sweetest little cuddlers!! But yeah, they are expensive. Their vet bills alone make mine look teensy. Yikes!
I love that the Wild Thing in your story is a dog, especially a quirky Chinese Crested dog. My favorite dogs are Irish Wolfhounds, my son had two (they were mixed) and I loved them. I don’t have a good set up for a dog, no way for them to let themselves out during the day while I’m away, but someday I’ll have one. In the meantime, I’ll love on my sister’s dog, an lovely Australian Shepherd.
My favorite pet in a story is the Papillon named Coquette in Jo Beverley’s A Lady’s Secret.
Thanks, Barbara I wasn’t crazy about the Chinese Crested breed before I started writing, but was in love with them by the time I was through.
Irish Wolfhounds are SO gorgeous. Elegance personified. My brother has a pair of Australian Shepherds and they are so smart. Its rough not being able to have one because of work, but you’re so right- it’s important that they get cared for and let in and out. Thats how I have partial custody of my daughter’s Bulldog She works, I puppysit. This way we don’t have a misbehaving dog, she gets plenty of exercise and time with her auntie-dogs, and it curbs my puppy cravings LOL.
Hoot a new book with a pet.
Tawny Congratulations on your new book. I love pets in stories. I’m partial to cats as I’ve always had them. There are a lot of mystery writers with cats in their books.
Kristan Higgins writes books with dogs in them and Marion Lennox wrote a four book Harlequin Romance series flashed Banksia Bay that features a dog in each book. Each dog had made it’s escape into the wild from a van that had crashed. The dogs were on their way to the vets to be put down. As each wild thing found someone to care for them none ended up with that sad fate.
Hi Kaelee Thank you so much! I love cats too – I have two now and they are the best for late night writing cuddles. I actually featured three different rescue cats in my last three books (one in each). The Sex and Lies stories were a part of the Blaze Authors Pet Project program we do, highlighting different rescue groups.
I’ve read a few of Kristin Higgins books and love how she brings dogs in. Jenny Crusie has as well – they are always great reads! The Marion Lennox series sounds wonderful. I love a happy ending!!
Wow, Tawny, FIFTEEN books! I can’t believe you’ve had time to write that many since I’ve known you.
I don’t seek out books with or about pets, but I enjoy it when they add something extra to a story. I love the way Kristan Higgins uses dogs in her books. They always add hilarity! I also re-watched the pilot of Frasier yesterday and realized I had completely forgotten how much Eddie – Martin’s dog – brought to the show. Eddie was one of the main characters after a while!
Also, my friend Nikki from high school (who guested with us once about ghost hunting) has a Wild Thing of her own – a Chinese Crested named Merlin. That is one ugly dog, but she adores him!
Congrats on your 15th release, Tawny. When I hear Wild Thing I think of Tone Loc’s song. We never had pets growing up, but I do enjoy books that feature pets.
The Tone Loc version is great. I listened to the Trogs version a lot while writing the story, too. But as far as videos go, Kinnison’s got it hands down LOL
Hey, Tawny, huge congrats on your release. What joy! Another story of yours to read. You know I’m a huge fan. When I hear Wild Thing I think of the 60s hit by the Trogs. Love that song. And I’m currently writing a dog in the wip – he’s the hero’s pet and right now he’s the smartest person in the room Good luck with WILD THING. It sounds like a real winner! Love the Perseus and Andromeda take.
Smoochy hugs and big happy thanks, Anna And ditto right back at ya!
I love the song, too. It’s always great to find music that sums up the story, isn’t it. Woot that you’re writing a dog, too. I’m giggling over it being the smartest one – and can’t wait to read this story. Which is this for? And when is it out?
Actually I got a release date for it on the weekend but if I told you, I”d have to kill you. But really pleased that it’s not terribly long after October 2011 when Seven Nights in a Rogue’s Bed is out. This one’s called A Rake’s Midnight Kiss. Love that Grand Central are keeping my working titles for these. The hero has a bitser dog who appears briefly in Rogue and plays a much larger part in Rake. Needless to say, it matters that he’s the smartest one in the room, LOL!
I love pets in stories! I don’t have a dog -and I haven’t had a cat either for years, but I often look after my brother’s german shorthaired pointer.
My favorite series (I can’t pick just one book) that features a pet -Galahad the cat- is in Death series by J.D. Robb.
I love Kristan Higgins animals. They always add a lot to her stories. My bubba, is a 55 pound rescue dog, he thinks he is a lap dog and he is definitely a wild thing! LOL Thanks for the launch party!
WOOOOOT!! Tawny, you Wild Thing! Congrats on 15 books! Time flies!! I can hardly believe it’s already 15! (Hmm… I might be missing a couple–better figure out which ones and make sure my Tawny collection is complete!) As for pets in stories, they tend to be fun! I know Debra Salonen’s written a few with lovable pets with good effect! Looking forward to reading yours! And your NEXT 15! Get writing, hon!
I love pets in stories. Don’t have a favorite one, but I love how they are written as true supporting characters. Their personalities come out and I just fall in love with them.
You’re so right! I think that’s one of the great things about a pet in a story – they do become a secondary character, but their motivation and goals are pretty simple and don’t tend to step over the main story LOL.
Another Tawny romance hits the shelves!!! Hoorah!!!! Big congrats on your 15th book, Tawny. That is so amazing!
Sorry I’m late to the party but I see you’ve managed to keep things rolling. I’ll just mosy over to the margarita machine and help myself.
I like reading about pets in books. Kristan Higgins’ doggies are wonderful and I love Eve and Roarke’s valiant kitty cat, Galahad. Your Medusa sounds adorable and I can wait to read your book. It sounds like so much fun!
And speaking of Wild Things, get you, girl, in those fabulous boots! Love ‘em!!
Yay, Kate’s in the Lair. I’ll let Sven know we need more tequilia *g* Thanks for celebrating with me It’s never too late to raise a margarita glass and say woot, right?!
I love Eve and Roarke’s cat. It has so much personality (and bulk *ggg*)
and Thanks, too, for the boot love. Aren’t they gorgeous?! They are my weight loss boots. My husband got them for me for Christmas in 2010 and I couldn’t get the suckers up over my knees. Fat knees? That was it for me. I was determined to wear those suckers
Margarrrrrrrritas!!! yeah!! It’s in the 90′s here in the DC area and I’ve been at a hothothot baseball tournament today. We won, and my boy hit a homer to drive in 3 runs ! So I’m ready for that margarita, FOR SURE!!
CONGRATS on 15! WOW!!! Like Caren, I can’t believe that it’s been 15 books since we met. :> Love the cover, btw. Harlequin has rocked your covers all along. :>
As you can well imagine, I adore pets of any kind in books. Love cats, dogs, birds, you name it. :> I loved Wolfram, I loved Lord Hairy in Donna’s short with Lori Foster, and loved writing a dog into my own Dark and Dangerous. :> Shadow was as integral to the plot as any of the other characters, so yeah, I love ‘em! Ha!
I’ve enjoyed all of Kristen Higgins pets in her books, and have enjoyed our own Kate Carlisle’s Brooklyn as she cautiously approaches cat-dom. Snork!
As to Chinese Crested…..hmmmm….the jury’s still out on them for me. I showed one once and it was ill-tempered and snappy. Ha! I’ll take your word – and enjoy the one in Wild Thing – and stick with my BIG dawgs.
Wooot!!! A round of margaritas in celebration of Jeanne’s son’s awesome game! Way to play
Its so cool to realize that I’ve been with my awesome Banditas since the beginning of these books. I’m pretty sure it’s the Lair magic that makes it all happen
You are such the pet person, Jeanne And my go-to gal for doggie info. And wow, with this great books with pets, you’re my go-to for book info gal, too.
LOL On the Chinese Crested hesitation. Well, I will admit, Medusa has quite an attitude in the book
Woo Hoo, Tawny! Many congratulations
on launching the Wild Thing! This Wild
Thing is most happy for you today! BTW,
we Wild Things haven’t had a pet since
our Gerald KItty Cat passed away back
in the mid-90s. He truly was a Wild Thing,
can you say feral? I still have some little
scars on my forearms from trying to hold
him during his early days with us!!
ROFL Pat Way to rock the Wild Things in your comments. I’m impressed.
My Persephone was a feral rescue – oh man, that first year was painful. We spent her first Christmas sharing handing around bandages and first aid cream to the guests. They do calm down eventually though – and then the cuddles are fun.
Sheesh, a girl comes late to the party after a LONG day of mimosas and margharitas …..
You WILD THING!
Love the premise of this story! I LOVE pets in stories esp. if the hero has to get used to it. As to Chinese Crested…um…is there scientific proof they ARE dogs?
I ran into some people at PetSmart who had THREE. I will say, one of the dogs “mane” was blonder than my hair…and there’s this tongue thing. Anyway, I’m breaking the rules and putting CATS in all of mine
Ooops, Joanie. Was he yours? (big innocent smile) Sorry – here ya go
You know, I haven’t actually seen proof that Chines Crested are dogs. They might be related to those hairless cats maybe? They definitely look alike.
I think cats in books are great, too!! All three of my Sex & Lies books had cats, and my upcoming December release features a cat based on my own Persephone. Aptly named –wait for it– Persephone *g*

I often find that pets in stories either add an element of humour or an emotional moment. Either one of which I love.
(There is something wrong with my grammar today. Wet weather-itis?)
Mary
Have fun with the bird today
Helen
The grammar looks fine to me, Mary! Congrats on the Golden Rooster!
Looks fine to me, too
Mary, I’m so with you! Pets bring out so many facets to a story that I don’t think could be shown otherwise. How people react to animals, treat their pets, what the interactions show –those are such great insights into the character.

Hey Mary! You caught the chook! If it’s wet where you are, it’s probably why he lured you in, he’s up for a day inside. Hahahah!
Whoohoo Tawny I love the sound of this book can’t wait to read it I so love your stories and as for pets in stories love them as well totally agree with Mary they add so much to a story whether it be humour or emotion there is always so much love to share with your pets.

Helen, I’m glad you enjoyed your weekend. I love Wolfram, too!
Oooh, wine and romance. It sounds like a glorious weekend, Helen! I hope you had a marvelous time

I love Jill’s books, and anything with a kitty on the cover would get my notice for sure
A story from the dog’s POV would be so fun. I can just imagine it’s take on the crazy things people do LOL
YAY – I hope you enjoy this one then, PJ
Thank you tons and tons, Nancy
I hope you enjoy Wild Thing.
Whooo hooo, Tawny!!! Congratulations on your 15th publication. That’s some major mojo, girl! Love the picture of you and your doggies!
Thanks Jo
I’ll admit, I still have to pinch myself sometimes to believe I’ve actually published 15 books (well, technically 16 since Harlequin put the online read I wrote into book form, but still…)!
Anything ala Campbell is my favorite, so I’m right there with you on loving Wulfram
And yessss, parrots are such great characters in themselves. Both in books and in real life.
I’m going to be giggling over Clyde the idiot brother all day, btw
I can totally picture a big, doofy sweetie of a dog now
OMgosh, Louisa, I LOVE that!
Thanks so much, too, on the book love
That cover is sooooo hot!
We have 2 dogs and a cat. I have always wanted a yorkie but have not found one I can afford:(
My mom breeds Yorkies, Gail
They are some of the sweetest little cuddlers!!
Thanks, Barbara
I wasn’t crazy about the Chinese Crested breed before I started writing, but was in love with them by the time I was through.
Irish Wolfhounds are SO gorgeous. Elegance personified. My brother has a pair of Australian Shepherds and they are so smart. Its rough not being able to have one because of work, but you’re so right- it’s important that they get cared for and let in and out. Thats how I have partial custody of my daughter’s Bulldog
She works, I puppysit. This way we don’t have a misbehaving dog, she gets plenty of exercise and time with her auntie-dogs, and it curbs my puppy cravings LOL.
Wild Thing Dogs rule, so I love reading about them in books, especially ones with a happy ending
Looking fwd to reading ur Blaze story
Hi Sasha, and thanks
I’m a major fan of happy endings, too.
Oh, how COOL, Kaelee! Id’ not heard of that series. What a great premise. :>
Hi Kaelee
Thank you so much!
ROFL Caren ;-D Merlin? What a great name for a Chinese Crested! I can see that hair spouting out the top of the head like a wizards hat.
Thanks on the congrats. Yep, fifteen. Time flies so fast!
Wild Thing!
Congrats on your release!
I love dogs. My favorite is Gold Retriver since I had one growing up. I don’t mind them in stories… They do add another layer to the plot at times….
Thanks, May
The consensus seems to be that animals rock the stories today! I love it
Golden Retrievers are so awesome. They are one of the prettiest dogs, and so smart and loving.
Congrats on your 15th release, Tawny. When I hear Wild Thing I think of Tone Loc’s song. We never had pets growing up, but I do enjoy books that feature pets.
Thanks, Jane
The Tone Loc version is great. I listened to the Trogs version a lot while writing the story, too. But as far as videos go, Kinnison’s got it hands down LOL
Hey, Tawny, huge congrats on your release. What joy! Another story of yours to read. You know I’m a huge fan. When I hear Wild Thing I think of the 60s hit by the Trogs. Love that song. And I’m currently writing a dog in the wip – he’s the hero’s pet and right now he’s the smartest person in the room
Good luck with WILD THING. It sounds like a real winner! Love the Perseus and Andromeda take.
Smoochy hugs and big happy thanks, Anna
And ditto right back at ya!
Oh, man, I’m getting old. All the years are melting into one. That’s OCTOBER 2012 for Rogue’s release!
I love pets in stories! I don’t have a dog -and I haven’t had a cat either for years, but I often look after my brother’s german shorthaired pointer.
My favorite series (I can’t pick just one book) that features a pet -Galahad the cat- is in Death series by J.D. Robb.
Galahad rocks!!!
I’m so with you -now that is a cat with attitude
I love Kristan Higgins animals. They always add a lot to her stories. My bubba, is a 55 pound rescue dog, he thinks he is a lap dog and he is definitely a wild thing! LOL Thanks for the launch party!
LOL Bubba the lap dog. I love it!
Thanks so much for joining the launch party fun, Lisa
Awww, shucks *ggg* Yep, fifteen. My website as a listing – http://www.tawnyweber.com/books
I’ll have to check out Deb Salonen’s books -thanks for the recommendation
And yes ma’am! I’m working on the next 15 now. Actually, the 16th is already in production, so I’m writing 17 now
Hey, it keeps me out of trouble.
Congratulations on the book! Depending on the book, I like reading about animals in the book. I like the Wild Thing cover.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the congrats -and the book cover love. I’ve definitely been blessed by the cover geniuses at Harlequin
I’ll let Sven know we need more tequilia *g* Thanks for celebrating with me
It’s never too late to raise a margarita glass and say woot, right?!
You are such the pet person, Jeanne
And my go-to gal for doggie info. And wow, with this great books with pets, you’re my go-to for book info gal, too.
LOL On the Chinese Crested hesitation. Well, I will admit, Medusa has quite an attitude in the book
Ohhh, forgot to add to Kate’s post that I too LOVE the boots! Rock on, Wild Thing!
Thank you!!! I so love those boots. I’m still trying to figure out how to make them go with yoga pants, since that’s my standard daily wear
I like pets in stories, as long as they don’t take over the story.
I agree, Chey
Woo Hoo, Tawny! Many congratulations
on launching the Wild Thing! This Wild
Thing is most happy for you today! BTW,
we Wild Things haven’t had a pet since
our Gerald KItty Cat passed away back
in the mid-90s. He truly was a Wild Thing,
can you say feral? I still have some little
scars on my forearms from trying to hold
him during his early days with us!!
Pat C.
ROFL Pat
Way to rock the Wild Things in your comments. I’m impressed.
My Persephone was a feral rescue – oh man, that first year was painful. We spent her first Christmas sharing handing around bandages and first aid cream to the guests. They do calm down eventually though – and then the cuddles are fun.
Tawny! Put down that gladiator!
I wasn’t a huge pet person until I got my own pup, a Portuguese Water Dog named Gibbs. Now, I’m a fiend for the pups. Still not on board with cats!!
Love your photo Tawny!
Awww, those Portuguese Water Dogs are so pretty, Laura. I can understand how it’d make you a pet person
And thanks
Any pic with my pups is a favorite of mine. Second only to pics with my girls, of course.
