Fast Five

I’m totally swamped with the day job, as in worked all weekend plus overtime last week and this week. And don’t ask me about the book due at the end of February. Really not a good subject right now.

Needless to say, I’m doing a short and sweet blog today. Just five short questions, and to keep thing moving while I’m at work, I’ll even throw in a signed copy of One Night Scandal to one commenter.

On to the questions!!

What’s the last book you read?

What’s the last song you downloaded or bought?

What’s the best meal you had last week (if you remember)?

Did you make a New Year’s resolution?

Have you tried Pretzel M&Ms (if so did you love them)?

Here are my answers:

Taken by the Prince by Christina Dodd

Uninvited by Alanis Morissette

Pecan crusted Tilapia (I’d give you the recipe but I bought it Safeway)

No.

Love Pretzel M&M…probably a little too much.

Okay, I’m at work today and won’t be home until close to 7pm. Have fun without me! Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win a copy of One Night Scandal.

Hugs, Christie! I hope all that work flies by and you can take a breath soon!

    OK, let’s see:
What’s the last book you read?
    - Delilah Devlin’s Strokes–a fun, hot collection of little stories to get your motor revved…

What’s the last song you downloaded or bought?
    - Hmm… Celtic Thunder’s Heritage album; I think we’re at least one behind!

What’s the best meal you had last week (if you remember)?
    - DH made homemade beef noodle soup–mmmm!

Did you make a New Year’s resolution?
    - Nope–I tend to break them far too easily. Have a couple of loose goals, which I haven’t made much progress on yet…

Have you tried Pretzel M&Ms (if so did you love them)?
    - Yes, and they are strangely delicious. I could eat an entire bag…

I do hope that things calm down a bit for you.

What’s the last book you read?
Hold My Hand by Cameron Chapman – It happened to be a free download and I thought it sounded good. While I did enjoy it it reminded too much of a movie I’d seen a long time ago.

What’s the last song you downloaded or bought?
I believe it was the Spanish version of one of Jennifer Lopez’s recently songs. I can’t think of the title at the moment. LOL

What’s the best meal you had last week (if you remember)?
Can’t say that I really had a “best” meal last week. Nothing special anyway.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution?
Not really though I did set a reading challenge on Goodreads, which is the first time I’ve done that. The goal being to read 150 books in 2012.

Have you tried Pretzel M&Ms (if so did you love them)?
Yes I have and while they were okay, they weren’t as good as I thought they would be. I rather like almond M&Ms better. :)

The last book I read was Lisa Kleypas’ “Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor.”

The last song I bought was Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass.”

The best meal I had last week was beef fried noodles.

I did make a resolution to stay in shape and to stop snacking.

I have tried the M&M pretzels and they’re a favorite of mine.

These five things are always fun. I love seeing, in particular, what people are reading.

The last book I read was Relish, a biography of Victorian celebrity chef, Alexis Soyer. Fascinating! He could definitely give Jamie Oliver a run for his money!

I don’t actually download songs – I tend to have the radio on most of the day on a classical station. Good to work to. Last CD I bought was ages ago – it was a four CD set of soundtracks from epic movies like Ben-Hur and Troy. Great stuff and good writing music if the radio isn’t inspiring me.

Best meal last week was a warm chicken and avocado salad. Yum!

    No new year’s resolutions!

I wonder if Pretzel M&Ms have hit Oz yet. I’m hopelessly out of touch with that stuff. I must say they sound a bit odd!

What’s the last book you read?
‘Brief Interviews With Hideous Men’ by David Foster Wallace. Currently, though, I’m reading a brilliant biography of Christian Slater’s… yummo… and yes, it’s got photos. :P

What’s the last song you downloaded or bought?
Song? Well, I bought ‘Lenny Kravitz Collection’ on itunes for $7.95. Otherwise, I bought some vinyl… $2 – $4 each… adding up to $12 all up at Rockaway Music… very nice including ‘Linal Richie’s Dancing on the Ceiling’ and Chicago as well as Grace Jone’s Promo vinyl of ‘Monster Music’.

What’s the best meal you had last week (if you remember)?
My home made fried rice with melted cheese on top… yummo! I know it sounds gross, but really you don’t use a lot of cheese, just a little.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution?
No, I’m an opportunist. If I see something good, know it’s worth it, I’ll jump at it… hold on and have fun. Did this last year and had an absolute ball!

Have you tried Pretzel M&Ms (if so did you love them)?
Woot! They sound great! No, I haven’t seen them around, but will try them out when they hit Australia.

I’m afraid to say, but it’s out of print but you can obtain a copy from the UK in hard cover – like I did but it cost me a packet! – and I’m not letting it out of my sight once I’ve read it! It was published in 2005, but never published in Australia … now weird is that??? The brilliant thing is that there’s so many funny bits in it I’ve had some great laugh-out-loud moments while sitting in my living room and even on the bus on the way home on the day I bought it! :D

Just read Penny Jordan’s A ROYAL BRIDE AT THE SHEIKH’S COMMAND. Just had to read one of her books after learning of her way-too-early passing on Dec 31/11.

Keep listening to Lady Antebellum’s JUST A KISS. I think my family is going to disown me for playing it so often….

One of the reasons I work from home is so that I can have good meals often. Hmmm…. Much as I made lots of “proper meals” last week, I just loved the chili. So full of goodness (and more, LOL!).

No resolutions. Ever. Try things throughout the year instead. One of the things I am working on right now is saying no, as sometimes I feel my friends/family take advantage of me – and I have only myself to blame for letting them.

Haven’t tried Pretzel M&Ms. Also haven’t tried cheesecake. Am afraid that if I like it, I’ll gain even more weight!

    • 15.1

You’ve never tried cheesecake??? Ever??? Personally, it has to be a really good cheesecake or it’s just not worth the calories. There is an awesome diner in my home town that has the BEST cheesecake. I’ve never had better.

What’s the best meal you had last week (if you remember)? Italian sausage, fried potatoes with bacon and onions, brussel sprouts.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution? Nope, don’t do resolutions, I had a goal in mind but a cold knocked that out already.

Have you tried Pretzel M&Ms (if so did you love them)? I like them, I love salty sweet.

  19. 19

The last book I read is an ARC of a new debut coming out later in 2012 called Secrets of a Wedding NIght. Don’t you love that title? Watch for it later this year.

I can’t remember the last song I downloaded. Probably some of the old Judy Collins songs as I saw her in concert in December. She was awesome. Wanted to make sure she was on the ipod .

Not sure such a thing as a “best meal” existed last week as we’re all dieting like crazy here. Don’t get me wrong – the food hasn’t been bad. Just not memorable – and no seconds :-)

Which naturally brings us to New Year resolutions. I don’t think I really made any this year – but I did put on weight over the holidays so I’m trying to get it off – which is not as much fun as chowing down on Christmas goodies.

Nope – haven’t tried pretzel M&Ms and probably shouldn’t. I can easily get hooked on salty sweet.

    Love the Fast Five, Christie!

Just finished “The Hangman’s Daughter” last night and must say it’s just a strange translation!

Anything by Enya rocks my boat and makes me cry at the same time.

I made a delicious pork stew by throwing everything in a pot — no recipe.

I want to be a more loving, less judgmental person in 2012. I’ve been very blessed and want to “be still my soul” a lot in 2012.
