Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

by Anna Campbell

Always happy to share a David Bowie video and I think Changes is such a great song. Hmm, maybe I can work my all-time fave David Bowie song Heroes into a blog in the future. I think it’s got potential!

There have been Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes in Campbellandia over the last year. And I’m finally in a position to let my Banditas and Bandita Buddies know all about them. Huzzah!

A few of you have contacted me asking when the next book is out. The answer is…

October 2012!

In North America, I’ve changed publishers from Avon to Grand Central Publishing (I’m still with HarperCollins in Australia). SEVEN NIGHTS IN A ROGUE’S BED (I love that title – it was actually my working title and I’m so glad that Grand Central have decided to keep it) is the first book in my first series called “Sons of Sin”. The link between the books in what is currently projected as a trilogy is that scandal surrounds the birth of each of my aristocratic heroes. I’m currently working on the second book which has a vaguely Scarlet Pimpernel feel and I’m having a wonderful time with the story.

Anyway, back to SEVEN NIGHTS IN A ROGUE’S BED. It’s a very gothic take on Beauty and the Beast. I know all my stories are BATB but this one’s really OVERT. In fact, even the characters know they’re in a Beauty and the Beast story, LOL! It opens with brave, beautiful Sidonie Forsythe presenting herself at half-ruined Castle Craven on the Devon Coast to save her sister from a fate worse than death. But while  the man she meets might be scarred and tormented, he’s no monster. I fell in love with beastly Jonas Merrick, the ‘rogue’ of the title, and I hope readers will too.

Here’s the blurb:

WILL A WEEK OF SEDUCTION . . .

Desperate to save her sister’s life, Sidonie Forsythe has agreed to submit herself to a terrible fate: Beyond the foreboding walls of Castle Craven, a notorious, hideously scarred scoundrel will take her virtue over the course of seven sinful nights. Yet instead of a monster, she encounters a man like no other. And during this week, she comes to care for Jonas Merrick in ways that defy all logic-even as a dark secret she carries threatens them both.

. . . SPARK A LIFETIME OF PASSIONATE SURRENDER?

Ruthless loner Jonas knows exactly who he is. Should he forget, even for a moment, the curse he bears, a mere glance in the mirror serves as an agonizing reminder. So when the lovely Sidonie turns up on his doorstep, her seduction is an even more delicious prospect than he originally planned. But the hardened outcast is soon moved by her innocent beauty, sharp wit, and surprising courage. Now as dangerous enemies gather at the gate to destroy them, can their new, fragile love survive?

The picture above is of Dunstanburgh Castle in Northumberland. Castle Craven in ROGUE is actually on the Devon coast but I used this magnificent ruin (it once belonged to John of Gaunt which will make admirers of Anya Seton’s KATHERINE leap about with excitement) was the inspiration for the setting. Mind you, Jonas’s castle does have the odd habitable room, unlike Dunstanburgh! I mean, I need somewhere for the ‘bed’ of the title!

STOP PRESS! THE COVER IS UP ON AMAZON AND

YOU CAN PRE-ORDER IT! HUZZAH! ISN’T THIS A BEAUTIFUL COVER? I’M IN LURVE!!!!

Anyway, as you can imagine you’ll be hearing MUCH more about SEVEN NIGHTS IN A ROGUE’S BED over the next months, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up as to what’s happening and when you can expect a new Anna Campbell book. Over the next little while, I’ll be sharing an excerpt and I’m sure dropping many, MANY more hints about this new story.

Speaking of Anna Campbell books, I’m delighted to say I just heard that my 2011 release MIDNIGHT’S WILD PASSION has finaled in the Birmingham Southern Magic Chapter’s Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence. Even better, my lovely Bandita friend Donna MacMeans has finaled too with her great REDEEMING THE ROGUE. Congratulations, Donna!

So I thought I’d hold a giveaway to celebrate my publishing news and also this Award of Excellence final. One lucky commenter today will receive a signed copy of MIDNIGHT’S WILD PASSION.

So obviously that’s your October reading sorted (snork!). What other books are you looking forward to hitting the shelves this year? I know I’m really looking forward to all my Bandita sisters’ releases (that’s a no-brainer) and the new Madeline Hunter series “The Fairbourne Quartet” starting with THE SURRENDER OF MISS FAIRBOURNE this month. Tell me some of your reading plans and you might win MIDNIGHT’S WILD PASSION! How’s that for a deal?

Oh my oh my oh MY!!! SQUEE!!!! YAY, Anna! I can’t wait for Seven Nights!! It sounds fabulous (I do so love a good Beauty & the Beast!) and the cover is gorgeous!! Ah, October… *sigh*

So, before then, I’m really excited about Shelly Laurenston’s upcoming Bear Meets Girl (her books just make me laugh and laugh :) ) and Ann Aguirre’s final Sirantha Jax book…

And the Banditas stories will fill in the rest! :)

Hey, Fedora, looks like the chook’s going to be raiding your bookcases today. I should have asked him what he’s looking forward to reading. I heard he’s got a soft spot for chick lit! ;-)

Hey, cool you’re looking forward to the series. I’ve been so looking forward to telling you all about it but I wanted everything confirmed before I opened my big mouth! Great list of forthcoming reading, by the way!

Hey Fedora! Great list, and great snag on the Golden ROoster! :> Watch out for him today. He kept slipping away from Helen’s place yesterday. I’m not sure HOW he did it, but he was back here, making mischief for a bit, then back at Helen’s place.

Weird. Now, it seems he’s done something naughty.

Fedora, I’m waiting for Sirantha, too. Vel is a great guy, but I’m rooting for Jax and March.

By the way, that beautiful black and white photo is from Jean Cocteau’s 1940s version of Beauty and the Beast. It’s absolutely gorgeous and so incredibly imaginative. Best version ever! Jonas, I’m pleased to say, isn’t quite so hairy! ;-)

I am looking forward to JR Ward’s new Black Dagger Brotherhood installment at the end of the month. And I want to read more of your books Ms.Campbell I can’t wait for the new one:) I met Julia London in person last Sunday and she has a new one coming at the end of the month can’t wait for that either-She is a wonderful lady. Will you do a book tour Ms.Campbell? If you come to Texas I would love to meet you in person:)

    • 3.1

Gail, I’ve fallen a bit behind with the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I think the last one I read was Phury’s story. Must pick them up again. Sounds like you enjoyed meeting Julia. Sadly, no book tour for me – I’ve actually got to write a book and the journey from Australia is a major time soak. One day!

    Hi Anna,

I can’t wait for this new one. Is this series in any way linked to the last one?
As always your faithful fan :)

    • 4.1

Hi Delia! Actually this is my first series. I know there’s loose links between Claiming the Courtesan and Tempt the Devil and My Reckless Surrender but I don’t think they’re close enough to constitute a series. And no, there are no links with the previous books with this lot. Well, not yet anyway. Never say never! Thanks for swinging by and saying such nice things!

I too am always eagerly awaiting Bandit books I put them on order as soon as I can LOL I tried with yours the other day at Amazon as an e book but not available here in OZ to order yet as an e book :( . There are so many that I am looking forward to the list would be endless LOL and my TBR pile is just so huge at the moment I manage to read about 7 to 10 a month but I am sure I buy about 15 a month LOL

I too love David Bowie’s music I have a lot of his albums on vinyl

    Have Fun

Helen, I’m not sure where I first saw Sidonie. Probably in a romance novel, LOL! It’s a lovely name, isn’t it? And I had such fun writing Castle Craven. It’s an enchanted place which is just what you want for a Beauty and the Beast story.

Rogue will be available in Oz as an e-book. They’re just a little bit slower getting everything up on Amazon than our American friends. I was quite surprised myself to see it all up there large as life on Amazon this week!

I have a lot of DB albums on vinyl. I think my fave was Station to Station, the one with Golden Years on it. Love that – at one stage in my life, I played that over and over. Must have driven my flatmates mad!

    Virgina says:

Like everyone else Anna, I can’t wait for this one. Love your books. I am way behind on my reading. I am not sure whats going on with me must be spring fever or something because every time I set down to read I keep trying to fall asleep. I guess I am going to have to start reading earlier in the day.

    • 8.1

Virgina, I do a lot of reading but I just seem to buy more and more books. It’s an addiction, I tell you! Thanks so much for saying you’re looking forward to this series.

    Hi Anna,
October is so far away, but in the meantime I’ll be looking forward to releases by Jennifer Ashley’s “The Duke’s Perfect Wife” and Julie James’ “About that Night.” Have you read the new Sebastian St. Cyr book yet?

  10. 10

I’m soooo excited about your Sons of Sins series, Anna! I have the Bowie song ‘Heroes’ running through my head now. Must be something to do with your hero, Jonas, sounding so scrumptious!

Congrats also to you and Donna in your Gayle Wilson finals!

    infinitieh says:

    What a cover!

I’m not sure what books I’m looking forward to – given my towering TBR pile, I’m trying not to look at upcoming books. Remove temptation and all that.

    Gillian says:

So, so pretty! They knocked this cover out of the park. Can’t wait to see how they live up to it with the next two! Huge congratulations on your first series–it will be wonderful, no doubt!–and on the contest final. What a great year you are having. :)

I am really looking forward to Jillian Stone’s THE SEDUCTION OF PHAETON BLACK-paranormal investigator which comes out next month, I believe. I thought her recent debut release AN AFFAIR WITH MR.KENNEDY was brilliant. It’s Victorian / Scotland yard adventure romance.

    • 12.1

Gillian, isn’t that cover lovely? So glad you love it too. And yeah, be interesting to see what we come up for for the next two! The Mr. Kennedy book sounds really interesting. I’ve been seeing a LOT of buzz on the net about it.

    Mary Preston says:

October is so far away. How am I expected to wait that long? A major case of cover love here. Yes, I do judge.

    • 13.1

Mary, it’s interesting – these days I mainly buy on word of mouth, a lot of it from the Bandita lair. Covers aren’t quite as important for me as they used to be. October will be here before you know it!

    Flora Segura Buchler says:

Hi Anna, I love the sound of this new series! I can’t wait to read it and celebrate it’s success.
Congratz on your new book deal with GCP, I hope it is way better because you deserve the recognition!

  15. 15

    Hi Anna!

I was wondering why SNIARG was pubbed with Avon in Oz. :) I love the title, and the first thought that comes to mind is…seven nights…what happens on the eighth?

I have downloaded so many books on my Kindle that I’m afraid to look. I’m on a women’s fiction tear right now. Two more Rona Jaffe books arrived on the doorstep and I just ordered Bridge of Scarlet Leaves. Thank God I’ve mastered reading on the treadmill at 3.2 mph! Have a wonderful weekend. Good grab, Fedora!

    • 15.1

Aha, you’ll have to read the book to find out! I have a wonderful relationship with the local Avon/Harpers office. I’m so glad they decided to continue the relationship here. Interesting about you being on a women’s fiction kick. I’m on a mystery kick. The problem with that is these mystery series are just endless! Romances often bottom out at two or three. Amelia Peabody is 19 and counting!

    Betty Hamilton says:

I adore Beauty and the Beast tyhpe books!! I would love to win this… but have added it to my TBR list (just in case). ;o)

    • 16.1

Betty, I don’t have any copies of the new book to give away yet. The prize is MIDNIGHT’S WILD PASSION that came out last May (celebrating the Award of Excellence final). Good luck!

Hey, thanks, Eli. I love the cover too. It’s not up on the Book Depository or Barnes and Noble yet – I guess it’s just too far out at this stage. I’ll let you know when it is!

    Anna Sugden says:

What better way to start the day than with David Bowie and word of a new Anna Campbell book! In fact, don’t tell the hockey hunks, but I may have to borrow Mr Bowie to cuddle with, while I read this!

We have so many exciting Bandita books out this year and I can’t wait for them all!

And so many of my favourite authors have books out later in the year – JD Robb, SEP, Tess Gerritsen, Susan Mallery …

I’m super excited about Jessica Andersen’s Nightkeepers series – though sad it will be coming to a conclusion. I’m especially looking forward to Rabbit’s book! And the latest CS Harris – I know it’s just come out, but I haven’t received my copy yet!

    • 20.1

Anna, I didn’t know you were a fellow Bowie fan. We must have a fan girl squee sometime! How wonderful that there’s a new SEP coming. I adore her stuff. I’ve got the C.S. Harris from last year coming to me as we speak – it’s only just out in paperback. I’ve noticed people raving about how wonderful the newest one, still in hardback, is.

    • 20.2
      Nancy Northcott says:

Ooh, how could I overlook Nightkeepers? Must’ve been morning brain.

Jessica will be here next month with the penultimate book, Magic Unchained. It features Nightkeeper Sven (no relation to our Sven).

We’d love our BB’s to have a chance to win, so check it out!

    Hmmmmmm…. my reading plans…. okay….

Today – at 8am – I fell down my stairs and broke a toe. So, I’m not allowed to do anything for the next week but read! How’s that for my reading plans? I have been running around looking at fixing up my garden, cleaning out my house and writing my books and doing a painting when my body decides to plant my butt in a chair in the most obvious way by making me clutz!

So, I’m looking at my books I have begun reading that are by my bed and getting my nose into the ones I was hoping to finish. If I can’t finish them, I’ll put them down for good; if I can, I will and do reviews on them. Otherwise, I’m stuck sitting for long periods of time until my toe heals. And it’s this one here:

    http://365project.org/mozette/365/2012-03-10

the one next to the pinkie on the left foot! Not the most comfortable one to break… and I hate breaking toes as they’re the weirdest little things when they heal. :(

    • 22.1
      Anna Sugden says:

Hugs on the broken toe, Mozette. Those things hurt like the devil!

Perhaps Paolo can bring you something to ease the pain. I’d offer up one of the hockey hunks, but they’re impervious to pain so can be a tad unsympathetic ;)

      • 22.1.1

Yeah, those hockey hunks are so tough!

      • 22.1.2
        Mozette says:

Oh! Thanks… I need all the help I can get so I don’t walk around my place. :)

Mum and Dad have offered to help me with my shopping by wheeling me around in a wheelchair they acquired for my Uncle originally, while I get them to buy the items I point out (they don’t want to buy the wrong thing for me from the shops and overspend on me).
A few friends are dropping by after they finish work this week to keep me company and I’m making sure I’m entertained by watching a few dvds I’ve got staring at me from the entertainment unit (I’ve had them for months and haven’t watched them!) as well as reading the books yet to be finished. So, this week will fly by! :D

And Paulo will be an added touch :P

    • 22.2

Oh, Mozette, ouch! I’ve broken my little toe twice (once you do it, it just seems to run into every little thing after that). It was excruciatingly painful. Hope you enjoy your reading!

      • 22.2.1
        Mozette says:

How true! And sleeping is a completely different thing altogether! You’re constantly putting your foot outside the covers, then it gets cold, but if you bring it in, it’ll hurt jsut to have the covers resting on it. But then, if you pull as sock on, it irritates the hell out of it…. so you end up having an ice cube on the end of your leg all night. :(

Oh well, shows us how much we ignore our toes until we really do something to them, eh?

Thanks, Anna. I will be doing another one on the sets of mugs I have. There’s my Loony Tunes set of 5 mugs, and then two others that are lovely mugs that I have too. I use them a lot; or when company comes around so everyone gets the same – or similar – mugs. It’s fun to do things that way. :D

CONGRATULATIONS! I saw the new cover on Amazon the other day and was bowled over by it. Simply gorgeous!

Love my Gothics and, of course, anything written by you, dear Anna, so I’ll be counting down the days until SEVEN NIGHTS IN A ROGUE’S BED (love this title!) is released. As for the second book in the series: vaguely Scarlet Pimpernel and written by you? I’m so there!

Lots of wonderful books I’m looking forward to this year. Of course, all of the books by the Bandits go without saying. Then there’s A WEEK TO BE WICKED from Tessa Dare (3/27), BETRAYAL by Christina Dodd (4/3), BRIDE OF THE HIGH COUNTRY by Kaki Warner (6/5), A NIGHT LIKE THIS by Julia Quinn (5/29), WILLOW SPRINGS by Toni Blake (6/26), WILDER by Christina Dodd (8/7) and on and on and on. So many wonderful books. Not nearly enough desert islands to escape to! ;-)

    • 24.1

Thanks so much, PJ. I’m so excited I’ve been able to share the cover and the blurb of the new book. Man, your TBR pile must look worse than mine! As you say, such a lot of fantastic books on their way this year. I’ll have to get that reading clone into gear!

  25. 25
    Nancy Northcott says:

Anna, I love the sound of this book. Can’t wait to read it!

What book am I looking forward to? What books am I not? All the bandita books, of course. Ann Aguirre will wind up her wonderful Sirantha Jax SF romance series in the Fall. I’m hoping Sirantha ends up with March. Ann will have the next in her Corinne Solomon series out in April.

Catherine Mann has a new book out now that I just picked up.

Sabrina Jeffries is starting a new series.

I’m very much hoping Brandon Sanderson will wind up the late Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series this year. I stopped reading along about book 6 because the thousand-page tomes were coming every 3 years and I couldn’t retain the many storylines during the intervals. When the last book hits, I’ll go back and read straight through.

    A. C. Crispin is releasing her Starbridge SF novels, and I’m catching up on those.

Linda Castillo is continuing the Kate Burkholder Amish Country mysteries, and of course C. S. Harris has anothere Sebastian St. Cyr out.

I’m assuming Dianna Love and Sherrilynn Kenyon will continue Belador.

So I have a lot to read.

I’m heading over to Beyond Her Book now. Back later.

    • 25.1

Goodness me, Nancy! You’re going to have to do nothing much but read to keep up with all of that! ;-) Thanks for saying you’re looking forward to the new book – it’s been a while. So glad the books will be out a bit closer together after this.

        Nancy Northcott says:

        Me, too! Multiple releases, yay!

While I’ll do my best with the reading, I fear the TBR pile may grow. I’d whittled it down a bit, and then there were all these March releases. . . .

        • 25.1.1.1

Nancy, I spent a fortune at the Book Depository when I got final approval on Rogue. The TBR pile is taller than the house at the moment. Hoping to whittle it down a bit today.

  26. 26

    Hi Anna -

You know I absolutely LOVE that title and your cover is so beautiful as well. The blurb sounds dramatic and Hollywoodesque :-) . My birthday is in October so your new release is like a personal gift LOL. Thank you Grand Central.

This is horrible to admit, but as my TBR stack is already teetering, I haven’t kept abreast of new titles emerging outside of the lair. I’m excited to see so many new titles listed in the responses – I’m taking notes. Looks like another fabulous reading year in the making.

    • 26.1

Thanks so much, Donna. I’ve got to say I was completely chuffed when they decided to keep the title. After seven books now, I just assume the title will change! And that cover is ooh la la, isn’t it? I just loved it to death from the moment I saw it. Honestly, there are so many great books coming out of the lair, that’s a whole TBR pile in itself, isn’t it?

oh YAY! Looking forward to this Anna, I LOVE scarred heroes and BATB tales. Lots of changes indeed, but it’s all good! I have TBR BOXES I have so much to read, and also I recently won a kindle so stuff is piling up on that, too! But looking forward to more from Lorraine Heath’s new series for one thing~ ;D

    • 32.1

Hey, thanks, Karyn. Actually I’m going to be really interested to see the Kindle figures for these books – I think the e-market is such a major player now. Hey, we LOVE Lorraine Heath here in the lair!

    Beth says:

What an AWESOME cover! I so love the Beauty and the Beast fable, maybe that’s why I enjoy your books so much :) It is second only to the Ugly Duckling. Any plans to write along that line? My TBR pile is so huge I don’t know what I am looking forward to, so many books so little time.

    • 34.1

Beth, actually there’s a touch of Ugly Duckling in Midnight’s Wild Passion – and Cinderella! I loved writing the ballroom scene where he waltzes with her in that book. Such fun. Thanks for saying you love the cover! Me too!

  35. 35

Yay, a new Anna Campbell book! And that’s a beautiful cover. Very lush.

Beauty and the Beast stories are among my very favorite stories, so woohoo that this is another in that vein!

Congrats on the Gayle Wilson award final.

    • 35.1

Thanks so much, Trish, for the congrats and the cover love. I think Beauty and the Beast is so powerful because it’s about transformation through suffering. Always works for me!

  36. 36

That’s so exciting!!! I’m going to go add it to my wishlist as soon as I’m done writing this comment!!
The cover is gorgeous, and I love the book title, I’m glad they kept it as well!

My TBR list is just ENORMOUS right now there are some any amazing books out there and I have a hard time saying no to anything that catches my eye.

Aislynn, lovely to see you here. Is it your first visit to the lair? You must come back – we mix a mean margarita. No, the mean cabana boy mixes the margarita. Need to get that right! LOL! Thanks for adding 7 Nights to your wishlist. Sounds like you’re a book addict too.

    Annie West says:

Anna, sorry I’m late to the party! had to stop though and say YAY!!!!!!!!!!! to your fabbo news. I love the cover of ROGUE and as one of the few people who’ve read it in draft form I have to say readers are going to have a wonderful time with Jonas and Sidonie. Beauty and the Beast made ultra sexy and intriguing. What a book! I’m so looking forward to reading the rest of this series. Sons of Sin sounds so promising.

Thanks for the pic of Dunstanburgh too. We were there several months ago on the most glorious day. One of the highlights of our trip so it’s great to revisit.

Congratulations too on finalling in the Gayle Wilson Award. You’re on a roll, Ms Anna.

    • 37.1

Thanks so much, Miss Annie. I was thrilled with the TWAOE final – LOVE a contest, as you know. And thank you so much for your help in getting 7 Nights ready to go to my editor. Honestly, don’t know what I’d do without you. Yeah, Sons of Sin sounds kinda intriguing too, doesn’t it? I’m so glad they let me keep the working title for the series as well!

    Joan Osborne says:

I love Beauty and the Beast stories and I am always on the look out for new romances that use that theme! Definitely will be looking forward to Seven Nights in a Rogue’s Bed! Will be high on my list of books to get. Love the cover too. I am also looking forward to Julia Quinn’s next book A Night Like This, Lyon’s Bride: The Chattan Curse by Cathy Maxwell and Tempted by the Highland Warrior by Michelle Willingham and that is just to name a few of the ones I have on my list of books to watch for.

    • 38.1

Wow, Joan, great list of forthcoming reads. You’re obviously a historical fan – yay, you! Yeah, I’m a complete sucker for a BATB story too. It always works for me!

Hi Kym, great to see you over here!

    • 39.3

Hi Kym! And then when the gremlins had hit the margaritas and everything went haywire? My, my, my! I thought I was in an alternative reality. So glad that the blog over with Barbara helped you find us. Don’t be a stranger. We have great guests and the Banditas are huge fun (as you probably noticed today!). Mad as cut snakes, but fun! ;-) And thanks for saying you’ll check out the work! Huzzah!

    Gannon says:

I luuurve the cover of your newest book, too, Anna. Gorgeous!

I’m still trying to catch up on my reading for the last few months, so I’d better not get started thinking about what’s coming down the pike. LOL

    • 40.1

Gannon, always lovely to see you. Thanks for swinging by and saying how much you love the cover. I can promise you’ll be seeing a lot of it between now and the end of the year! ;-) Oh, I hear you on having so much good stuff to read – it’s wonderful to have the choice but it can be a bit overwhelming too.

  41. 41

YAY!!!!! Can’t wait for Seven Nights to be out so your readers can enjoy another wonderful Anna Campbell romance. Of course I’m going to gloat and say that I’ve already read this book in manuscript form. It’s Campbell at her best! I think your heart is really in a ruined castle on the coast, Ms. C!

Congrats to you and Donna on the Gayle Wilson final! Well-deserved!

Once I’m finished this proposal, I am going to read the wonderful CS Harris’s next. Can’t wait!

      Nancy Northcott says:

Are you on the hardback C. S. Harris, Madame, or the paperback?

      • 41.1.1

Nancy, I’m on the hardback. C.S. Harris and I share a lovely agent, who has sent me her books in the past and got me hooked! Scratch that, my agent is an EVOL woman! Anyway, I think these books are worth the price of a hardback. I don’t say that about many authors, I can tell you!

          Nancy Northcott says:

LOL! Glad you are enjoying the book. A little recreational reading is always a good thing.

    • 41.2

Thanks so much, Christine. And thank YOU for your help in getting it ready to go. You and Ms. West are my go to gals and you’re always such a wonderful help to me. Yay, you! Yeah, I think a castle on a promontory looking out over the sea would really suit me. Although I’d like it to be not QUITE as ruined as Dunstanburgh. I definitely could see myself living at Castle Craven, though. That was a cool crib!

    Deb says:

ANNA! That’s wonderful! The cover IS beautiful! Perfect that it has a Scarlet Pimpernel feel to the story as well.

I have a lot of reading to catch up on because just haven’t been reading that much as of late. I am looking forward to your new book in October!

    • 42.1

Thanks so much for swinging by, Deb, and saying you like the cover. Actually it’s book 2 with the Scarlet P feel to it. This one’s more Victoria Holtish than that – very gothic which I had great fun with. Clear away your TBR in time for October, my friend! ;-)

    Cassondra Murray says:

Wooot! Anna, that’s a fantastic cover, and so glad to hear we won’t have to wait so very much longer for another Anna Campbell book. Very excited for you to be at Grand Central, also. And I love BAB stories just about more than any other, whether the beastliness is internal or external. So I can’t wait for this one.

    Congrats on the new gig!

    • 43.1

Cassondra, love that you’re another BATB fan. It’s such a wonderful riff, isn’t it? Jonas is beastly outside and in at the start but by the end, he’s just lovely. Well, that’s my opinion and I’m going to stick to it! LOL! The castle is amazingly inspirational – as Annie West says, she’s visited it too. It’s right on a headland looking down on a wild sea and commands the countryside for miles around. Northumberland is full of wonderful castles. Bamburgh is another that’s really worth a visit – another stunning setting. http://www.bamburghcastle.com/ Seriously, check it out! It’s crying out for a romance novel to be set in it!

  44. 44
    Cassondra Murray says:

Oh, and that castle surely does spark the muse for me.

    Lots of possibilities.

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see who won the copy of MIDNIGHT’S WILD PASSION! Good luck!

    Pat Cochran says:

I love, love, love the cover for Seven Nights
In A Rogue’s Bed! You really have blessed by
    the Cover Goddesses!

I’m going to make a list (remember me, the
Queen of Lists?) starting with the Bandita’s
upcoming release dates. As I come across
authors whose new books I want to read, I’ll
    add them to my list!

    Pat C.

    • 48.1

Pat, a list is a great idea. I love how with some of the online sellers you can set up a wishlist. It reminds me I want to buy the book the next time I’m making up an order. Thanks so much for saying you love my new cover. I think it’s gorgeous!

    catslady says:

I’m late but I’ve been over at Barabara’s lol. I am looking forward to all the Banditas books and Kathryne Kennedy has a new one – Lord of Illusion that I’m looking forward to. (That pesky rooster is causing havoc over there lol).

    Louisa says:

SO excited about this La Campbell ! I cannot tell you how much I am anticipating getting this book in my hot little hands!

Just today I received my copy of When Maidens Mourn by C.S. Harris !! YOU are the reason I have had this book on preorder forever and it finally came! And YOU are the reason I sit and stare at it when I should be finishing up my current WIP! I have vowed not to visit with darling Sebastian St. Cyr and his new wife, Hero, until I finish His Charming Seductress. WAH !!!!! I also have the latest in the Douglas / Childs Pendergast series COLD VENGEANCE on my TBR when I finish my WIP stack. Along with Madeline Hunter’s latest.

Crawling back into my cave now to finish the )__))(*&*^%%$ book !!

    • 50.1

Louisa, you’re such a good source of recommendations for me, I thought it was time I returned the favour. Or on the other hand – BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! My evil plan has worked. C.S. Harris books will take over the world! Good luck with His Charming Seductress. I’m still chuckling over your description of it in the wonderful round table Nancy held this week. Hope she does that again. That was such fun.

    Serenissima says:

What a wonderful news Anna! (Sorry I am a bit late for this party) You must be very happy about a new book and a new publisher.
The only negative news is that we have to wait for so long to read about Sidonie and Jonas…The blurb was delicious.

About David Bowie, ain´t he a master musician? My favourite song by him is Starman, I can listen to it over and over again.

At the moment I am really waiting for Jennifer Ashley´s and Madeline Hunter´s new books.

    • 51.1

Serenissima, I love all those ‘alien’ songs by DB. The first song of his I ever heard was Space Oddity – and you know, it hasn’t dated at all. Still sounds wonderful. Glad you’re another fan.

Thanks so much for swinging by to wish me well with my new endeavors. Won’t be long till October!!!
