After seventeen years working for financial institutions in software development, she took a leap of faith and started her first book. I’d like to call it a re-release party or the maybe the release of Christie 5.0. That’s right, today is the big day 5-0. I’m ready for the day. I made my crazy cake, which is the best chocolate cake ever! If you want the recipe, let me know. It has oil and vinegar in it (not that you’ll taste the vinegar). If you’re vegetarian, no problem…no eggs in the recipe. Not into dairy…also no problem. Being a historical writer, I’ve always been fascinated by the emigration out of Europe to North America and Australia. I think the Irish emigration is interesting, not just because I’m Irish, but because it was one of the first mass emigrations. In 1845, 75% of the potato crop was devastated by the potato blight. This was more than just a crop that the farmers sold for money. This was their food. The potato made up the majority of their nutrition.
